Thread Quilting
Thread Quilting

I AM IN HAND quilting. WHY THE THREAD SPOOL SEEM thinner than I. .. PURCHASED SAY 5 years ago?
New thread ART 8960 H8 1840 and the old is VB 268 ART 277. The latest seems to wear and fray. where, as the old one does.
You probably have threads that are two different 'weights'. The latest is more likely to be used when machine quilting. The former is thicker and significance for hand quilting. It feels almost like a thin wire? Then it is a heavier wire that can take the constant component and out of hand sewing and is a better 'cover' on it to avoid lint. See if the spool end has the weight written on it. If 30wt says, this is for machine quilting. And 40wt 50wt is for quilting by hand.
